Children Collide are all set to unleash their much discussed and truly anticipated new album MONUMENT on April 20th, not a moment too soon. The album just today scored next week’s triple j Album of the Week, so keep your radios tuned to the j’s to hear it all ahead of release.

Johnny and Heath dropped into triple j for a chat with The Doctor a few weeks back, and to premiere their new single Cherries live on air. Listen to them discussing various bizarre things with The Doctor right here. Get your ears around Cherries at Youtube here, or pre-order Monument in full at iTunes here.

The Sword to a Gunfight Tour is in full swing and has been overtaking venues all over the country for a couple of weeks now. This is audience’s first peek at a couple of new songs from Monument and it seems audiences and reviewers alike have been enjoying what they are seeing and hearing. Check out what some of them had to say here and here. Only Ballarat and Melbourne left to round out the tour, so don’t forget that punters can pre-order Monument at all shows to take home a killer felt (correct, FELT) Monument wall poster on the night.

The Sword to a Gunfight tour also marks an important event in drummer Ryan Caesar’s very final tour with the band. Ryan’s departure was announced last month in a very candid press release sent out by the band. Read it in full here.

This month’s issue of triple j magazine features an extensive interview about the impending new album; a great in-depth look at the making of this special third album. Pick it up all month. Something else to get you anticipating Monument more is Part 2 of The Making of Monument. A great look inside the studio. Take all of that in at Fasterlouder here; the video even features sneaky snippets of album tracks for eager ears. Exciting times ahead for Children Collide as they look into new territory the new record in tow.

Hunting Grounds are mixing their anticipated debut album. Exciting times for the sextet as this means we’re on the brink of release some new sounds for audiences to revel in during the lead up the album release. The lads have yet to christen the record but we can reveal that this album will be showcasing a more diverse and mature side of the bratty bunch. More on that next month.

To tide you over, SPA’s Bryget Christfield caught Hunting Grounds in the studio for a sneak peek at what we’ll be hearing very soon. Have a read here.

March saw Hunting Grounds debut a whole chunk of their new record in a live setting at the stunning Golden Plains Festival. Opening the weekend’s proceedings they made quite the impression, garnering pretty rapterous reviews here, here and here.

The Living End rolled on in their usual raucous fashion with a couple of big ticket shows last month. First up was Launceston’s very popular inaugural Breath of Life Festival. The Living End lined up for day two of the festival in front of a huge crowd and pulled out their biggest festival guns. The month of March also yielded a live performance at Adelaide’s Clipsal 500 after race concert. Always a very packed, sweaty and exciting affair.

For now TLE are taking a rest from the road, with frontman Chris Cheney returned to Los Angeles where is he living at present. But fans shouldn’t be disheartened, TLE are cooking up something VERY exciting for 2012, we’ll be very pleased to announce what this is over the coming months.

Gyroscope took off to Sydney last month to play a one-off, free and very intimate show at Rock Lily Star City with up and comer Grey Ghost a couple of weeks back. This was the fellas first trip east-side since 2011’s Choose Your Own Adventure Tour and based on the crowd response, the return to a live setting really agreed with them.
