CHILDREN COLLIDE unleashed their brand new single SWORD TO A GUNFIGHT on the world a little over two weeks ago, since then the Kraut/Disco inspired song has been the number one track added to alternative radio, number one on the AIRIT charts and the video for the single has received over 60,000 views on YouTube. Exciting things are happening at Children Collide HQ as all is being prepared for the impending revelation that will be the band’s third album ‘Monument’.

360 has shown absolutely no signs of slowing up after exploding into 2012 across so many platforms. Tickets to his much-hyped ‘Boys Like You Tour’ have become rarer then some of Six’s vintage jumpers and are now COMPLETELY SOLD OUT! The tour has already caused quite a ruckus kicking off in Queensland over the weekend with Sixty doing some in-store signings at JB Hifi in Toowoomba and Brisbane which saw thousands of his loyal army of fans turn out in force just to get within inches of the man himself. With more signings coming up throughout the tour be ready to see the true fan force the social networking addict known as Uncle Six truly has!

In chart news, Six’s album ‘Falling & Flying’ this week regained it’s highest ARIA chart position since debuting at #4 in September last year. Current single ‘Boys Like You’ (featuring Gossling) has sold over 20,000 units in the last week and has now well and truly reached Platinum sales status. Six continued to show what an amazing year he had in 2011 by having not one but three song entries into triple j’s Hottest 100 on Australia Day. ‘Throw it Away’ (featuring Josh Pyke) came in at #84, followed by dance floor anthem ‘Killer’ in at #37 with current platinum selling single ‘Boys Like You’ coming in at an amazing #8. Sixty thanked his fans on Facebook by posting: “To get a top ten song in the Hottest 100 was also on my goal list. Tick. So grateful to everyone who voted. Thanks so much! Extremely stoked!”

The spits have already started flying after the announcement on Friday afternoon that Sixty will battle Californian raper OKWERDZ on Saturday March 31 at the Laundry Bar in Melbourne, tickets go on sale this week, get in quick as these are sure to sell out crazy fast!

360 has also become the first artist selected by MTV Australia to feature in their Local Produce series which will showcase one local artist each month. Local Produce is a new initiative dedicated to the latest music from Australia and New Zealand. Aimed at supporting and championing local talent, Local Produce’s first episode of the series will feature electric performances of “Boys Like You”, “Killer” & “Child”, interviews and a tour of Sixty’s hometown, Melbourne. THE LIVING END have just finished slaying stages all around the country as a part of the 2012 Big Day Out tour. Holding true to their title of Australia’s best live act the boys have been playing to massive crowds at all shows as well as treating fans and general punters alike to their killer rendition on Nirvana’s ‘Breed’ as a super special tribute to the Big Day Out on their 20th year.

TLE also shocked the music loving public by announcing that rapper 360 would join the band at their Gold Coast and Melbourne Big Day Out performances for a very special once off collaboration. Sixty joined the boys on stage during their epic song ‘How Do We Know’, check out triple j’s live recording of the song here and footage of the electric performance straight from the mosh-pit at the Gold Coast right here.

This week also saw The Living End announced as playing a FREE ALL AGES SHOW on Saturday the 18th of February at Manly Beach as a part of the Australian Open of Surfing. The boys will be hitting the [V] MUSIC STAGE at one of two free concerts to be held on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 February. The three-piece powerhouse joins a primo line-up of homegrown acts including Children Collide, Sneaky Sound System, Bluejuice, Stonefield and Grant Smillie. For those who aren’t able to make it down to the performance at Manly you can catch all the action live to air on Channel [V] from 4:30pm – 6:30pm both days.

In other shows; punters in Adelaide can catch up with the band at the Clipsal 500 after race concert on Mon Mar 04. HUNTING GROUNDS popped their inaugural Big Day Out cherry last weekend as they took to the stage at the Melbourne event to a crowd of very keen fans and onlookers. The boys from Ballarat certainly got the party started right in Melbourne setting the tone for a rockin’ hot and sweaty Melbourne Big Day Out Festival. Hunting Grounds will take a break from touring throughout February and are retreating into Melbourne’s Red Door Sounds recording studio once more to put the finishing touches on their debut album. The sextet will now focus on their album recording as well as preparations for their upcoming performance at the Golden Plains Festival in March.

Stay tuned though, as always the HG boys have some very exciting touring announcements to make in the coming weeks.

DANIEL LEE KENDALL has spent the summer months locked away in his bedroom on the Central Coast of NSW writing and demoing ditties for his much anticipated debut album. In true DLK fashion he has quite a few cute and quirky tunes up his sleeve which should be hitting your ears later in the year.

Daniel continues to gain quite a bit of attention abroad with the Zales Jewelery commercials featuring his kitchy single ‘Lost in the Moment’ pegged to re-run into for three weeks leading into Valentines Day in the United States and Canada. This ad alone has contributed to DLK’s track being watched on YouTube over 300,000 times via different platforms, if you haven’t already checked out the ads do so right here.
